Northern Rescue
Northern Rescue is a family drama full of heart and humanity. Faced with the sudden loss of their mom to cancer, John West (William Baldwin) and his three teenage kids leave the big city of Boston to get a fresh start in a small Northern town called Turtle Island Bay.
I worked closely with show runner Bradley Walsh and producer David Cormican to create a score that reflected the grief and brokenness of these extremely well written and very real characters. Finding chords and melodies full of ache and dissonance was important, but we very quickly discovered that a clunky and slightly out of tune piano with unusual distorted guitar textures went a long way to capturing the pain and sadness that the West family experiences as they adjust to their new reality. A big thank-you to Joel Schwartz for all of his lovely guitar work and collaborations on this score.
