Working on the music for Detention Adventure was literally an adventure in and of itself. For this series, I was very pleased to team up once again with Amin Bhatia, but also for the first time with the wonderful Sarah Slean. The three of us dove head first into a musical vocabulary strongly influenced by fantasy and science fiction. Our fearless show runner, Joe Kicak, was very well versed in this world and consistently pushed us to take the music to new and exciting places. As a result of this collaboration, the score for Detention Adventure won Best Original Music, Fiction at the 2021 Canadian Screen Awards.
